Calli Simpson

MS, LAMFT

Hi, I'm Calli and am so glad you're here. I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) with a Bachelor of Science Degree from North Dakota State University and a Master of Science Degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Kansas State University. I specialize in working with couples/romantic relationships and adult individuals. As a therapist, I take a curious, inclusive, and collaborative approach to learn about and honor my client's experiences, wants, and needs to ensure therapy is as helpful as it can be in meeting their goals. A session with me will involve introducing strengths building skills, lots of open-ended questions, humor, compassion, and authenticity. It is my goal as a therapist to create a space where you feel heard and valued, and help you live a life that is fulfilling and empowering.

More About Calli

In my work with couples/romantic relationships, I specialize in communication conflict, feelings of disconnection, differing value systems, and intimacy building. I work to connect how a person’s past experiences and current beliefs are playing a role in their ability to communicate, be emotionally available, or mentally and physically present with their partner(s). All relationships face challenges at some point, so understanding oneself and your partner(s) allows all individuals to feel secure and valued in the relationship. I am a Gottman Level 2 trained therapist and combine a variety of Emotion Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory interventions to help you feel more connected to your partner(s) and for your relationship to be filled with more effective communication, appreciation, and laughter.

In my work with adult individuals, I specialize in helping people navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional distress, hurtful family experiences, and feelings of dissatisfaction or confusion in life. I will encourage you to explore how past experiences are impacting your current behaviors, emotions, and views of self and others. We will identify what your wants and goals are in life and work together to decrease your levels of distress and get you living the life you truly want to live. I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist and am happy to discuss if this therapy model will be helpful for you and your goals.

Starting therapy can be an intimidating process. It is important that you find a therapist that is a good fit for you where you feel comfortable, safe, and heard. Please reach out to see if we would be a good fit together as you start your therapy journey.

I see clients at the Maple Grove office and virtually.  I can be reached at Calli@MN-CCC.com
