MA, LMFT
I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis and completed a Bachelor's of Arts Degree at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, my educational background includes completing a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Nonfiction Writing and Literature from the University of Alaska Anchorage. I have always had a strong desire to help others, and I draw on both my personal and professional experiences when working with clients. I bring warmth, humor, compassion and openness to create a space for my clients to work on their own discovery and healing. My approach to therapy is centered around building a trusting relationship with my clients where it is safe to work on difficult and painful issues. My style is direct and honest.
My passion and areas of expertise include working with couples and individuals on issues of communication, relationship conflict, parenting concerns, sex and intimacy, affairs, separation, and divorce, as well as trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and self-worth. I work extensively with clients to help them tell their story, examine limiting beliefs and understand how past experiences shape who we are. I also see clients struggling with sex addiction, often working with both the primary client as well as the partner impacted by the addiction.
I have an eclectic approach to therapy that includes aspects of multiple therapeutic theories and psychoeducation. I also utilize many evidence based modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
I see clients at our Maple Grove location either in-office or virtually.
